Grid-tied Hybrid Inverters can be used like a Grid-tied PV Inverter but also have the capacity to integrate a battery with the system. This allows the user to keep options open for adding a battery now or in the future.

Batteries allow shifting of the energy generated during the day time to supplement power usage during the night. Great for minimizing power bills in homes where there is not much day time usage.
